About Me

I have always had a love for the arts, nature and all things blue.  I take my camera almost everywhere I go in the hopes of finding a little bit more of myself in each frame.

I believe the greatest gift one can ever give themselves is the opportunity to look at things differently.  After all it's only when we switch lenses that change itself can occur!

I grew up in a family of renowned artists and creative individuals.  At an early age I came to understand the essence of art, its amazing potential, and the ability to heal that lay beneath it.

Although I was an outgoing child with a real spirit and enthusiasm for life, I experienced great difficulty when it came to expressing my emotions.  My father, who among many things was a beautiful artist and photographer,  surprised me on my 10th birthday with a camera.  Without intention my father had provided me with the key to unlocking my creativity and emotions.  The camera quickly became my means of expression.

With a passion for photography and an innate desire to help others, I went on to obtain an Honors B.F.A. in Still Photography and an Honors Master's Level Diploma in Art Therapy.

Prior to my becoming an Art Therapist I owned and operated a children's photography camp called CAMP CAMERA.  It was this experience that fueled my desire to further my education and combine my passion for photography and my desire to help others into a successful Art & Photo Therapy Practice.

I have spent the better part of 20 years working with clients in child care facilities, schools, multidisciplinary centres, hospitals and first nation reserves.  I specialize in Photo Therapy and have perfected the use of photographs, film and projected imagery in therapy with clients struggling with low self-esteem and confidence.  I have been blessed with the opportunity to help many recognize their self-worth, the gifts they possess and the potential that life holds for them.

I have been featured in Chatelaine Magazine, Huntsville Forester, Huntsville Doppler, One Thousand Trees and have just finished writing and illustrating my first children's book.

My passion has always been and will continue to be to help others come to their own place of healing and recognition.
